High-Rise Building Lightning Protection
Avoid costly structural and services damage to your building while also improving safety, by ensuring your lightning protection system is functional and compliant.
- Testing & certification to AS/NZS 1768
- Reduce risk of costly damage & loss of service
- Non-invasive testing allows for business-as-usual
- Minimise building insurance premiums
High-rise buildings are particularly prone to lightning strike due to their prominence above ground level. As well as posing a significant safety hazard to people, lightning can result in damage or loss to building services including lifts, fire safety system, HVAC, lighting, electricity supply and communications infrastructure. This can significantly impact owners and tenants and be very costly to rectify.
While building insurance may respond to cover some of the losses, a well maintained Lightning Protection System (LPS) can prevent disruption and loss occurring in the first place. Regular testing of the LPS to AS/NZS 1768 is critical to ensuring its operational effectiveness. Moreover, many building insurers now incentivise this testing to be carried out as routine maintenance.
